As a conductor, Ray Fahrner is celebrating his 27th season directing the Cambridge Chamber Singers. During this time he has brought to light 33 world premieres and over 100 American premieres, including those of Gyorgy Ligeti. Musicians as disparate as Richard Stoltzman and Joey McIntyre have come under his baton. He has also conducted the Old Stoughton Musical Society, the Boston Chamber Ensemble, the Jamaica Plain Symphony, the Greater Marlborough Symphony Orchestra, the Cape Cod Community College Chorus. Currently, he is in his 10th year as conductor of both the Colleges of the Fenway Chorus and the Colleges of the Fenway Jazz Band, where he works as Director of Performing Arts.

In a prior lifetime, Ray was Associate Professor of Music at Ohio Northern University, where he worked under the astounding direction of Ed Willims, RIP. At ONU, he conducted the University Chorus and the New Music Ensemble.
